Technical Assistance Center for Students in Temporary Housing

The Technical Assistance Center for Students in Temporary Housing (STH TA Center) supports New York City schools in their implementation of programs and services using American Rescue Plan – Homeless Children and Youth (ARP-HCY) funding.

Advocates for Children of New York is contracted by the New York State Education Department to operate the STH TA Center through September 30, 2024.

The STH TA Center provides technical assistance, professional development, and capacity-building resources to support NYC schools in meeting the urgent needs of students in temporary housing using ARP-HCY and other funding sources.

The Community of Practice for STH Community Coordinators and Family Assistants is a peer learning space where staff come together to discuss a different topic each month.

Office Hours Sessions

In coordination with NYCPS, the STH TA Center is holding live Office Hours sessions to support implementation of funds for students in temporary housing. During these sessions, the TA Center and relevant NYCPS departments will share tips and guidance and answer questions. Read our School Allocation Memo Implementation Q&A.
