Junior Board

Founded in 2005, AFC’s Junior Board is a group of dedicated young professionals that supports and promotes the organization’s mission, helps expand awareness of AFC’s programs, and draws attention to issues affecting the communities it serves.

The Junior Board offers members a collegial culture that encourages and supports collaboration, open communication, and initiative. Teamwork is at the heart of the Junior Board’s contributions to the AFC mission as members with diverse professional backgrounds apply their ideas, skills, and passion to support AFC’s mission through fundraising, social media outreach, and networking.

Membership on the Junior Board gives members the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a philanthropic environment and to advance their talents through challenging volunteer assignments. Members also acquire new business and personal contacts as they reach out on behalf of the organization.

Membership requirements include:

  • Attending quarterly meetings;
  • Participating in at least one Junior Board committee (Communications, Development, or Membership);
  • Giving or obtaining an annual contribution every fiscal year (July 1—June 30); and
  • Bringing a passion and interest in education and a dedication to AFC’s mission.
