Cheick arrived in the U.S. on his own at age 16 and enrolled in high school, but was told—illegally—that he had to leave and transfer to a high school equivalency program.
Advocates for Children assisted Kevin’s mother in finding a more appropriate school placement for sixth grade. With our help, Kevin enrolled at a specialized non-public school for students with disabilities, where he finally received the individualized support he needed.
This September, Paige’s mom was able to send her daughter off to her first day of fourth grade confident she would be welcomed in a school placement that meets her needs – what a difference a year makes!
