AFC & the ARISE Coalition Testify on the New York City FY 2026 Preliminary Education Budget
Today, AFC and the ARISE Coalition (coordinated by AFC) are testifying at the New York City Council Committee on Education’s Preliminary Budget hearing.

AFC’s testimony highlights several key education programs that are funded only through the end of this year, urging the Council to ensure these initiatives are continued and baselined. We are also calling for additional investments in preschool special education evaluations and services; small-group reading intervention; school-based mental health clinics; and school accessibility.
这 ARISE 联盟‘s testimony focuses on the urgent need to make more New York City school buildings accessible to students, parents, educators, and community members with physical disabilities.
这 Coalition for Equitable Education Funding (CEEF), which is co-coordinated by AFC, also testified at the hearing, calling on the City to provide long-term funding for key programs and services at risk of funding cuts.
