Those include more spots in free summer enrichment programs, and hundreds of new social workers and nurses. Support for students with dyslexia, living in homeless shelters, and learning English as a new language are also underwritten by the time-sensitive funds.
“We need our elected leaders to start planning now,” said Executive Director Kim Sweet in a statement, “so that in fall of 2024, schools are not forced to excess social workers and other critical staff, and students who rely on theseprograms do not have the rug pulled out from under them.” Li atik
