Julius would act out in class out of frustration at not being able to meet his teacher\u2019s academic expectations.\r\n\r\n\u201cI reached out to AFC because Jules wasn't progressing academically and his behaviors were escalating despite the additional services. The DOE tried to label him as emotionally disturbed, and I knew they were mislabeling him. This scholarship, which covers the many out-of-pocket costs of higher education, will help Julius pay for school supplies, dorm supplies, travel expenses, books, and more when he starts classes at Skidmore College in the fall!\r\n\r\n\"This grant has been a life saver,\" said Julia. \"Julius continues to require accommodations in college and is at this point unable to juggle work and school demands.
